Where and How to Cast Your Ballot in the 2020 General Election 

There are three options in which residents in Jefferson County, Kentucky can cast their ballot in this year’s General Election. Below you will find information on early, in-person voting, in-person voting on November 3, 2020, and how to vote via absentee ballot.  

Early, in-person voting is available from October 13, 2020, through November 2, 2020. You can vote at any one of the following four locations, Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

 (Main & 2nd Streets)

Kentucky Center for African-American Heritage 

(1701 West Muhammad Ali Blvd)

Louisville Marriott East 

(1903 Embassy Square Blvd. ~ Commonwealth Ballroom )

If you would like to vote in-person on Election Day, November 3, 2020, there will be a total of twenty polling locations in Jefferson County, including the four locations noted above. For a complete list of polling locations for November 3, 2020, click the following link. All polling locations will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Parking is free at all locations and don’t forget your identification and to wear your mask!

For those who wish to vote via absentee ballot please remember that your ballot must be postmarked by November 3, 2020; it must be received by the Jefferson County Clerk’s Office by November 5, 2020.  

If you are voting via absentee ballot you can opt to drop your ballot off at one of the following locations in the designated drop-box for absentee ballots as opposed to mailing via the postal service during the early voting period.

All twenty polling locations will also have drop-boxes available from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 3, 2020. 

To check the status of your absentee ballot visit:  https://vrsws.sos.ky.gov/VIC/  Here you can check on the date you requested your absentee ballot, when your ballot was mailed out, and when your returned ballot was received by the clerk.

Lastly, please watch the following video to ensure that you are completing your absentee ballot correctly, there are very specific instructions in completing your absentee ballot and we want to make sure every person’s vote is counted!
